Write for us
We welcome original proposals about the places, customs, records and forms of participation that shape public life. A strong contribution helps a general reader notice something specific and understand it without specialist vocabulary.
What we are looking for
We consider clear explainers, grounded comparisons, accounts of how a civic custom developed, and reader-friendly ways to interpret public information or shared spaces. Useful pitches focus on one question, offer a distinct point of view and make room for nuance rather than treating one experience as universal.
What to include
Briefly describe the proposed subject, the main point a reader will take away, why it suits Silver Public Journal and any relevant experience or sources you would bring. Tell us whether the idea has been published elsewhere. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have asked to see a draft.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option to share your pitch. We cannot promise publication, and we will consider whether a proposal fits the subject, tone and needs of the publication.
